As part of St. Anna’s amazing growth since Hurricane Katrina, a group of parents started our Sunday school program in October of 2007. The class meets when Mass starts at 10:30 am, then the children join the service for the “Peace.”We focus on reading Bible stories, learning prayers, coloring and other crafts projects. The lessons and projects follow the church calendar. For example, we spend December learning the story of Jesus’ birth. We plan to meet from September through May each year.
The Sunday school is a “work in progress.” As the current children grow, we will adapt to meet their needs, providing a Christian education that focuses on our Anglican heritage and traditions, while continuing to teach younger children who join St. Anna’s.
We welcome all children who are potty trained. Parents may either join us for the class or go to Mass and enjoy worshiping “child-free.”
The head of Sunday School is Nicole Gottschalk. For further information contact the church or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
