The Pill Bottle Ministry was started because I noticed how many pill bottles my family throws away and visited a church in Memphis that had this outreach. I found New Orleans Medical Mission Services which will reuse bottles in their outreach program, so I asked Mother Allison if we could start collecting pill bottles and she said yes. Much to my dismay, most of my bottles are unusable because the labels cannot be removed easily, leaving parts of labels or sticky bottles. But the project is still a worthy one for those who can provide clean, label/glue free bottles. Donated bottles can be dropped off in the container in the Parish Hall and MUST BE:
- Empty
- Washed with soapy water anddried
- All labels and glue removed (We cannot use bottles with names imprinted on them, remnants of labels or glue, or that are sticky to touch)
