UPDATE 9/22/2025 Dr. Jim Hammann, who originally constructed the organ at Holy Comforter and has directed the “organ transplant” to its new home at St. Anna’s, has almost completed the installation. We were blessed to hear the beautiful sounds of the organ yesterday for the first time. Jim is a perfessional organist and organ builder. He currently resides in Iowa Falls, Iowa, where he serves as organist at St. Matthews By The Bridge Episcopal Church. We are grateful for the gift of his time and talent in giving this wonderful instrument a new life at our church.
UPDATE 9/3/2025 The “swell box” to enclose the pipes for our new pipe organ has been complete and is being painted and gilded. The organ should be installed in the coming weeks.
8/1/2025 While it is with sadness that the Ch apel of the Holy Comforter, located at the lakefront in Gentilly, has closed, St. Anna’s has been blessed with receiving their pipe organ after decades without one. Thanks to Bishop Duckworth and all who are helping to make this possible. The deconstruction and movement of the organ to St. Anna’s occurred at the end of July. It will remain in storage there until the cabinet required for the mechanics is built in the back of the church and be fully installed sometime this fall.
