An Amazing Team: The Dodwell House Fundraising Team

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.  For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves[a] or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.” Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians

By chance or spiritual design we have quite a team to insure that our dream of a Dodwell House Community Resource Center, a home for Anna’s Place NOLA, is realized. Because we are all so close to us I suspect that we did not even realize the abundant blessings that our Lord has blessed us with in the talented team that we have. Jim McMillan and I recently had occasion to speak to Canon Shannon Duckworth preparing for a presentation to the Executive Board of the Diocese. Our mission is to secure their oversight and approval of a construction loan in order to complete the construction work on the Dodwell House. The goal is to open the facility by the early summer of 2023.

Our bankers are showing a great deal of support for our work and a keen understanding of the purpose of the building. Gulf Coast Bank has and remains a friend to us and knowledgeable about how churches work. So we are grateful for their support. In order to finalize a loan Diocesan Canons require that we seek and get approval from the Diocese. This is true of any loan that requires collateral. So, our conversation with Shannon. During the course of that conversation we began to name those who have direct impact on what we are doing. These persons are generally pro bono, members, or contributors though at least one is a contract employee (though very vested in the project). Following this is a link of our “Team” that is being presented to the Diocese. It is amazing. Take a few moments to read the depth of experience and variety of experience that we bring to the table in order to insure success in fulfilling our dream. God works in wonderful ways.
