We are planning to begin the first year of Education for Ministry at St. Anna’s this September, sometime after Labor Day and most likely on Thursday evenings. In this year, we will study the Old Testament in depth, engage our spiritual journeys, share prayer and table fellowship.
EfM is a 4-year program of Christian formation offered by the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Each group is limited to 12 participants, has a mentor and costs $375. Scholarships are available. We commit to each other and to the program one year at a time.
Here is Lauren Anderson reflecting on her experience: “I began EFM to learn about my Christian faith, especially for an in-depth study of the Bible. I found that and more: I found a community of persons who have become important to me. EFM builds faith through study, inquiry and discourse. It builds community through deep sharing and the abiding respect that grows from being part of an intimate faith community.”
On this journey, you may expect
- committed confidentiality, trust and respect
- communion and refreshment by way of prayer, study, sharing our stories
- a small group with a big heart and mind and soul
