Inquirer's Class
St. Anna's Church hosts "Inquirers Classes" usually before worship services on Sundays. The classes are normally for six Sunday's with an emphasis on the Episcopal Church. One can say this is an Episcopal orientation class. Topics discussed and covered include:
- Familiarization with the Book of Common Prayer
- What do Episcopalians believe?
- Who are Episcopalians - a local perspective and a worldwide perspective
- The basic ideas and culture of Episcopal Anglicanism
- A bit of history. Apostolic succession, the seven sacraments, and all that stuff
- What is the sacrament of Confirmation?
The general form is casual and inquirers are encouraged to bring questions and challenges to class. In the best of cases the class is more a dialogue than teaching. At the end of the classes students will be asked if they wish to be Confirmed or Received into the Episcopal Church. However, Confirmed Episcopalians are always encouraged to attend Inquirer's classes to learn something new.
